You can record a voice note using Messages so your friend will receive an audio clip. It saves you some time on long messages and also gives them the pleasure of hearing your delightful voice! Launch the Messages app on your iPhone or iPad. Tap on an existing conversation with the person you would like to send a voice note to.

Depending on your carrier, messaging rates might apply when you send SMS/MMS. If you use iMessage and Wi-Fi is unavailable, cellular datarates might apply.

The message indicates iMessage with date and time at the top and the message ends green with sent as text message at the bottom (lighter gray color). Also, there seems to be a slightly darker gray (almost bold font) color sent as text message that you know definitively when you were blocked. How to Send Voice Messages with the Message App Open the Messages app on your iPhone. Tap on an iMessage conversation or start a new one by tapping the compose button in the upper right and add a contact. Touch and hold the gray audio wave icon on the right of the typing box. To play an audio message, tap the message. To save an audio message, tap Keep underneath the message. The Messages app deletes audio messages after 2 minutes. Send and personalize your photo messages

1. In amessage conversation, tap .
2. Tap to take a photo.
3. From here, you can tap Effects , Edit, or Markup to personalize the photo.
4. Tap to send or tap Done to add a personal message before you send your photo. If you don't want to send the photo, tap in the upper-right corner of the photo.

Send video messages

1. In a message conversation, tap .
2. When the Camera app opens, choose Video.*
3. Tap to start recording or tap to add an effect to your video before or after you record.
4. When you're done recording, tap . From here, you can tap Edit to edit your video or tap Done.
5. Tap send message to send. If you don't want to send the video, tap message in the upper-right corner.

Send an existing photo or video

1. In a message conversation, tap .
2. Select a photo or tap All Photos to pick a photo from your Photos app. After you choose a photo, you can edit the photo or use Markup before you send it. Just tap the photo thumbnail in the message thread and select Markup or Edit.
3. Tap to send.

Send audio messages

Imessage Voice Message Not Working

1. In a message conversation, touch and hold to record an audio message.
2. To preview your message, tap . To cancel, tap . To send, tap .

To play an audio message, tap the message. To save an audio message, tap Keep underneath the message.

The Messages app deletes audio messages after 2 minutes. To keep your audio messages longer, go to Settings > Messages. Scroll down and tap Expire under Audio Messages, then select After 2 Minutes or Never.
